WBREDA (West Bengal Renewable Energy Development Agency) Stepping Forward

10/30/2006WBREDA (West Bengal Renewable Energy Development Agency) procured two 30kW MicroTurbines along with a gas cleaning system and installed the same. After the trial run and some local modifications WBREDA finally commissioned the country's first microturbine project at Purulia in October 2006. The project was formally inaugurated by Shri Mrinal Banerjee, Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy, Government of West Bengal in the presence of Mr. Henry F. Jardin, US Consul General at Kolkata on 30 October 2006. The machines are now under operation and providing electricity to two villages in the Purulia district through the West Bengal State Electricity Board grid.
